Moondawgie
Bio:
In 2019, Chicago based rapper-producer Ian Moran underwent the moniker Moondawgie right before the start of the pandemic in Lawrence, Kansas while finishing college at KU. Despite writing and freestyling his whole life, music was not something he had taken seriously until the occurrence of a third life-changing surgery which forced him to be housebound for roughly half a year. This pushed him to take the pen seriously, cofounding rap collective American Terrorist (AT) with Kansas City/Lawrence based artists R. Witnee, Quarterback (FKA GTX Death Ray), Pirli, and Jalyn Ezra. AT opened their first show for Florida based rapper 454, and from there rocked a slew of venues both as a group and as individuals; not limited to but including openings for Detroit’s own Zelooperz, East Coast underground rap legends such as MIKE., Mavi, Navy Blue, and Wiki, and hardcore acts like Knocked Loose. Since taking hiatus from American Terrorist, Moondawgie has released 3 EP’s called the “Red Queen Hypothesis I, II, and III” and has since created his own unique sound inspired by the flat, harsh noise of the plains and the endless uncompromising oceans of clouds in KS. Earlier this year, he cofounded the label “Fowl Mouth” along with singer-songwriter Paul Jesse and designer Samuel Dahlstrom, and started the duo “South Facing Window” (SFW) with the aforementioned artist. Major influences include JPEGMAFIA, Deafheaven, Three Six Mafia, Waylon Jennings, and Gorillaz.
Recent endeavors include:
Over 8 music videos shot and edited with Fowl Mouth in the past year,
Mixed and mastered 2 EP’s both dropped this past year (SFW’s “BANG!” and solo project Pisces King 3)
Recorded 3 more EP’s in the mixing stage to be dropped in 2025
